Xiaomi Mi A1 Review: Look and Features

Xiaomi Mi A1

The Xiaomi Mi A1 which represents Google’s Android one project was launched on Tuesday, this week. The Chinese company, Xiaomi, has high hopes for its new product since Mi phones have been doing pretty well in the market. The company had been working with Google since six months for the development of this new product.

Smartphones have become an integral component of our lives today. Living without our smartphones can make us frustrated within hours because we are so dependent on them. Smartphones are indeed smart enough to connect us to the rest of the world in a hundred different ways. If you’re thinking of buying a new smartphone, this review will help you know better about one of the newest smartphones available.

Xiaomi Mi A1 Look

This new phone stands out from it’s old companions even though it would look a bit like them. Yes, we are talking about the well received Redmi phones that are a huge hit in the market. We can say that the Xiaomi Mi A1 is an upgraded version of its predecessors. This Phone will be available in black, gold, and rose gold colors. While the black and gold colors are already in the market, you will have to wait for a few more weeks in order to check out the rose gold one.

The phone has rounded edges at the corners that will help you hold it better. It boasts a 2.5D Gorilla glass, giving it a high-end look. The sleek 7.3mm side profile makes sure that the phone doesn’t look very bulky. Gone are the days when people struggle to hold thick and bulky phones in their palms. Sleeky is the new style in town! Also, the all metal body makes the phone look premium when compared to other Mi phones. The back side is shiny and smooth, making you feel good when you hold the phone in your hands.

The dual rear cameras and antenna lines may give the new Xiaomi Mi A1 a bit of resemblance to the iPhone7 plus. To avoid heating up of the device, which is pretty dangerous and annoying for the users, dual pyrolytic graphite sheets have been used inside the phone. These sheets can radiate the heat faster and reduce the temperature of the phone by 2 degrees.

There are captive android buttons below the screen that will help you navigate through the phone. There are power buttons and volume buttons right where your thumb can reach them easily. The dual sim tray is on the left of the phone whereas the infrared emitter is at the top. When you go to the bottom, you can see the audio jack, the charger point and the speaker phone. All of these looks making  Xiaomi Mi A1 one of the best phones by Xiomi till date.

Xiaomi Mi A1 Features

Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processorpowers the new Xiaomi Mi A1 just like the Redmi Note 4 and Mi Max 2. The RAM is 4GB and the storage space is 64GB which can be expanded uses a micro SD card, upto 128GB. The dual sim tray is a hybrid one which means either you can use two nano sim cards or you can use one nano sim card and a micro SD card. With 64GB internal memory, not having an SD card is not really a big issue.

The screen of this phone has 5.5-inch LTPS display with a full-HD (1080×1920-pixel) resolution. The weight of the phone is 165 grams which means it’s not very heavy for your palms. It will fit there well because of its 155.4×75.8×7.3mm diamension. The battery is non removable and stores a charge of 3080mAh.

One among the two 12 megapixel rear cameras has a wide angle lens while the other one has a telephoto lens. The front camera is 5 megapixel. Xiaomi Mi A1 runs the latest version of android which is the Android 7.1.2 Nougat. The image quality is pretty good and the performance of this phone is pretty satisfactory for a phone in this price range.
