Google to Brand Certified Android Phones With Google Play Protect Logo

Google Play Protect

Ever since Google’s Play Protect feature was announced at the company’s annual I/O event in 2017, Google has been trying out various methods to make it available for all the devices. Initially, the feature first arrived in the Android device setting and then it started appearing prominently in Google Play starting this August. Now, Alphabet inc. which is the parent company of Google has announced that the Google Play Protect logo will appear on smartphones that are certified by Google.

By this step, Google has taken a step to make people aware of the devices that are certified by Google and those that are not. It says that the certified devices by the company will come with the Google Play Protect logo by default or out of the box, and will provide the users with a plethora of security features, which also includes regular scanning of the device for the presence of any virus or malware infected apps.

The smartphones certified by the Google Play Protect will also be able to support Google’s Find My Device feature that will let them find their phones when misplaced somewhere. Many Android smartphones are already certified by the Play Protect but this program will ensure additional security and safety, all you need to do is just look for the Google Play Protect logo on the packaging of the phone.

In the first place, Google provides certifications to the the smartphones to ensure that the users or customers receive stable and secure experience while using the device. This also helps the company add an extra layer of security for the smartphone. The smartphones certified by Google will undergo hundreds of compatibility tests to ensure that they adhere to the latest Android permissions and security model. It also means that the pre-installed applications that come out of the box for some smartphones are authentic and free from any type of malware.

Furthermore, Google has also released a list of certified partners that not only includes smartphone manufacturers, like Samsung, Nokia, OnePlus, and other big players, but it also includes some lesser known brands as well. This has provided the users with a large number of brands and smartphones that they can choose from.
